چکیده

Acute mesenteric ischemia (AMI) is one of the major life-threatening emergencies which require immediate attention and treatment. The most common cause AMI superior artery (SMA) occlusion secondary to an embolic phenomenon. We present a 55-year-old gentleman with acute SMA thromboembolism, treated by catheter directed thrombolysis (CDT) that helped in avoiding surgery. A male, known diabetes, hypertension atrial fibrillation, presented abdominal pain found have thromboembolism on contrast computed tomography (CT) abdomen. As there were no evidences bowel clinically CT imaging, endovascular CDT was performed following patient improved discharged after 10 days hospital stay. Timely intervention appropriate population arterial thromboembolic can help avoid surgeries, reduce extent non-viable decrease resultant significant morbidity.

Immediate Catheter Directed Thrombolysis for Thromboembolic Stroke During Carotid Endarterectomy

BACKGROUND Carotid artery endarterectomy (CEA) is a common procedure undertaken by vascular surgeons with over 5,000 procedures performed annually worldwide. Published rates of perioperative stroke range from 1.3% to 6.3%. CASE REPORT A case is presented in which on-table intra-cranial angiography and catheter directed thrombolysis were used for a thromboembolic occlusion of the distal intern...

Acute superior mesenteric artery occlusion complicated by basilar artery occlusion

Acute mesenteric ischemia is a rare cause of abdominal pain with a very high mortality rate. Vague presentation and often misleading clinical findings make the diagnosis elusive. Here, a unique case of complete superior mesenteric artery occlusion further complicated by basilar artery occlusion is illustrated.

Acute Arterial Thrombosis after Covered Stent Exclusion of Bleeding Mycotic Pseudoaneurysm: Treatment Using Catheter-Directed Thrombolysis

Conventional absolute contraindications to catheter-directed thrombolysis include active or recent hemorrhage and the presence of local vascular infection, both of which increase the risk of procedure-related complications such as bleeding and systemic sepsis. For this reason, lytic therapy of arterial thromboembolism under these circumstances is generally precluded. Herein, we describe a uniqu...
